Audio Device Settings
This feature is supported from Eunhasu V0.6.6.
Overview
Music files can have different sample rates (e.g., 44.1kHz, 96kHz). Some USB DACs need time to switch their internal clock and circuits to match the new signal when the sample rate changes. If playback starts before the DAC is ready, the beginning of the track may be cut off or a short noise may occur.
To prevent this, you can set a delay time on the Audio device config page. Playback starts after waiting a set amount of time once the sample rate has changed, helping the DAC handle the new signal reliably.
However, the required delay time depends on the design and operation of each DAC, and not every DAC needs this setting.
Terms
USB DAC: A DAC connected to the network player with a USB cable.
Sample rate: The number of times per second the sound was recorded when the audio file was made. The higher the value, the more detail the sound can capture. (e.g., 44.1kHz, 96kHz, 192kHz)
Delay Time: The time playback waits for the USB DAC to be ready when the sample rate of the track being played differs from the previous track. The unit is msec (1/1000 second).
USB ID: A unique number assigned to each USB DAC product. It is used to identify the connected DAC. (e.g., [xxxx:xxxx])
This screen sets the Delay Time for each connected USB DAC.
Default Delay Time: The delay time applied to all USB DACs. The default value is 0.
USB ID [xxxx:xxxx]: Connected USB DACs are shown automatically, and this is the delay time applied only to that DAC. The default value is 0; enter a value from 0 to 10000 msec in steps of 5 msec.
Save: Saves the settings.
Trash icon: Removes the USB DAC from the list. Its saved settings are deleted as well. If you reconnect the DAC and refresh the page, it appears in the list again.
Colors by USB device status
Blue: The USB DAC is connected, but its settings have not been saved yet.
Green: The settings have been saved by clicking Save.
Gray: Settings are saved, but the USB DAC is disconnected.
How to set
Use the default value (0). Only if the beginning of a track is cut off or noise occurs when the track changes, gradually increase the value in the USB ID entry for the DAC you are using and click Save.
